Deep garnet in color, this medium bodied wine is full of lush blueberry and cherry notes and aromas of violet, lavender, and crushed rose petal. A subtle spice lingers on the finish. The soft, silky tannins make this wine approachable now and will continue to develop over the next few years.
The vineyards associated with our Cuvee blend our warmer vineyard sites in the greater Yakima valley, primarily coming from Alder Ridge Vineyard which sits above the Columbia River, near Alderdale, WA . Lonseome Spring Ranch in Benton City, Wa and Sugarloaf vineyard north of Wapato, WA
Our Red Shed Blend (pronounced ‘coo-VAY day la Bree Rooj’) is inspired by the great blended red wines of the Southern Rhône region of France, the most famous being those from Chateauneuf-de-Pape. Grenache is the star in this blend, bringing concentrated fruit, rounder tannins and acid. Mourvedre adds rich, earthy undertones and spice. Cinsault contributes perfume-like floral character and light red berry fruit while Syrah brings great color, dark fruit, more structured tannins, and pepper notes. The Viognier cofermented with the Syrah in this blend lends purple floral aromatics of violets and lavender.
