Production
Fireside Tradicional is made from a blend of two traditional Portuguese port wine grapes – Touriga Naçional and Souzão. This ‘port-style’ wine was made by the traditional method of harvesting and fermenting ripe grapes, then stopping the fermentation mid-way through by the addition of neutral grape spirits (high-proof brandy). This leaves the final wine with elevated levels of both sugar and alcohol.
