Celebration of Syrah

On Friday and Saturday, April 7 & 8, 2017, McMenamins Edgefield Winery will hold its 16th Annual Celebration of Syrah, a two-day revelry of wine, food and fun. The 74-acre Edgefield property will host winemakers from the Pacific Northwest and beyond who will showcase their best Syrahs and other Rhône varietals throughout the weekend.

Wine Club members save $10 on admission to the Grand Tasting on Saturday afternoon; the password was sent in an email. If you didn’t receive it, please email wineclub@mcmenamins.com.

Celebration of Syrah
Estate Syrah

Planted in 1997, the Longshot Estate Vineyard here at Edgefield has traditionally been used to make Edgefield Distillery’s Longshot Brandy. In 2015, however, the warm growing season yielded perfect conditions for making a cool climate Syrah. We jumped at the chance and hand harvested the grapes, then fermented them 100% whole cluster with gentle maceration through traditional pigeage (foot treading!). 
Estate Syrah
The resulting wine is medium bodied, with notes of raspberry, dark chocolate and spice. We’re releasing it to coincide with the vineyard’s 20th anniversary at this year’s Celebration of Syrah! In addition, Red Shed and Gateway club members will receive Estate Syrah as part of their shipment.
Black Cherry Cider
New Cider Release

Our Black Cherry Cider is on its way to pubs throughout the Northwest! Welcome spring with a pint, or try it in a cocktail:

Cherry Sling
2 oz Gables Gin
½ oz Cherry Heering
½ oz Cointreau
½ oz Lime Juice
4 oz Edgefield Black Cherry Cider
2 dashes Orange Bitters 

Combine all ingredients except cider in a shaker with ice. Shake, then strain into a highball glass with fresh ice. Top with cider and garnish with a fresh cherry and a wedge of lime.
